Vigil may have been created during Ulduar, but its core player base has been around the block too many times to count, and frankly the number would be embarrassing. With the Lich King dead the curtains are closing on the expansion. As we've seen countless times, the end of every expansion is a perfect time for players to reassess the time they spend playing this video game called World of Warcraft. Many players decide that it is no longer enjoyable, or they decide it is time to chase skirts (no offense Flip), or they rededicate themselves to that thing people call the "real world." By that I mean they lock themselves in a dark room and watch every single heart breaking episode of MTV's The Real World until their eyes bleed. While some of our former raiders pursue things outside of Azeroth, the remaining members must look to the future. With that in mind, Vigil is recruiting players that will allow us to continue our tradition of working hard enough to be a top twenty-five guild. What does that mean for you, humble adventurer? It means that now is your best chance to ditch your struggling guild with a wishy-washy raid leader and get yelled at by yours truly. I know, the offer sounds too good to be true, but it gets better. Sometimes I won't yell at you. Crazy, I know.

Our general recruiting standards still apply. If your guild hasn't gotten to Heroic ICC then our scouts will not take a serious look at your application. Your best bet is to hit the weights, maybe join a semi-pro league, and try out again in a few months. If your guild is anything but 11/12 in Heroic ICC then you'll have to explain why you are better than your fellow raiders and have the logs to prove it. If your guild has finished the instance and is now in a state of decay, then as long as you write an intelligent application you may even be offered a signing bonus. How does a stack of flasks sound?

Other than that it's important that you want to play WoW for at least another six to eight months. I know you can fill my heart with empty promises of being in it "for the long haul" and how I'm the one. Unfortunately, my heart has been broken too many times. Therefore, I've built a wall around it that you'll only be able to breach when you and your fellow raiders reach level 85 and kill Ragnaros, again. Then, and only then, will I show you the light that keeps the guild alive, and you will be like me.

I've had extra time to write this news post because we were caught using vBulletin with an expired license. I'm deeply ashamed. The fact that this occurred a day before we completed Icecrown Citadel means that someone aside from the members of Vigil noticed the dysfunctional website. What a horrible turn of events. In case you were wondering, it takes them awhile to shut down your website, and it takes forever to turn it back on.

I could write a small rant about Necrotic Plague, Shambling Horrors, and missed intercepts but if you've spent any time on the encounter those feelings are universal. I could write a briefer rant about Defile, but that would be a personal attack on players and not a dumb mechanic. After wasting attempts in Phase One and Two for weeks, while getting wasted (I'm sure that is in no way related to the wasted attempts), we had multiple solid attempts on Thursday of last week. The highlight of the night was a twelve percent wipe at the end. Technically it may have been 11.9%, which qualifies as our obligatory one-percent wipe. On Tuesday the guild started around seven to get a head start on the server first race. I slept through this early start and while doing so missed the only wipe of the night, on trash before Lord Marrowgar. Tension was high, fingers were pointed, people were muted and then we raped the instance. To cap the night off, I decided we were going to "frag" Arthas on our first attempt of the night and my raiders, fearful of a verbal lashing, cooperated. Go us!

Congratulations to the guilds that completed the version of the encounter that required 5% better play, and special congratulations to the guild that played 10% better. Actually, it's the same congratulations and there won't even be cookies mailed.

The only downside to killing Arthas on our first pull is apparently no one recorded the entire kill. Luckily we have an abundance of footage from the first two phases that we can splice together before the third phase and you'll never know the difference. If a video is made it will be posted here instead of this sentence.

To the best of my knowledge this will be my last meaningful "We did it guys!" news post of this expansion. Until we meet again internet, stay safe and don't hate me for looking at blue skies while getting a sunburn.

Cool fight, got a little bit of a buff this week with the Raging Spirits spawning instantly, still not that big of a deal, just quick taunts/TotT's etc. Had a 16% wipe last week and that was no fun, came back and killed it within a few tries this week, GJ to everyone involved.

We killed Putricide Heroic, but forgot to take a screenshot, here's a video instead!

Raid stacking is never fun. Add a terrible mechanic that hinders your ability to perform and you have a recipe for an awful encounter. Thanks Blizzard.

1 shot this, sad to see these kind of easy bosses at the ends of wings. Forgot to fraps, maybe next week.

Killed this crazy cat in 10 man, had it evade bug twice on us which was pretty neat having a 90% lich king 10 minutes into the fight.
